What is Open Item?
Enabling Open Item on any menu item lets staff enter a custom price at the time of sale. Useful for items with variable pricing, custom orders, or house accounts where the price changes each time.
How to enable or disable an item
Go to the item's Settings tab and toggle Active on or off. An inactive item disappears from the POS but remains in your catalog — you can reactivate it at any time. This is better than deleting items you might want to bring back.
How to set an item count
- On the item's settings page, find the Count field.
- Enter the maximum quantity available for this session.
- Click Save. Once sold out, the item grays out on the POS automatically.
