What is a modifier?

A modifier is an individual option inside a modifier group. The Cooking Temperature group contains the modifiers Rare, Medium Rare, Medium, and Well Done. Modifiers can be free or carry a price adjustment — a customer who wants extra cheese pays more than one who does not.

How to add modifiers to a group

  1. Open the modifier group from the Modifier Groups tab.
  2. Click Add Modifier.
  3. Enter the modifier name (e.g. Extra Cheese, Gluten Free Bun, No Onions).
  4. Enter a Price Adjustment if this option costs extra — leave at 0 if it is free.
  5. Click Save. Repeat for each option in the group.

How to reorder modifiers

The order modifiers appear in the group list is the order they display on the POS. Drag and drop them in the modifier list to rearrange — put the most common choices at the top.

How to mark a modifier as default

If one option should be pre-selected when the modifier screen opens (e.g. Medium for cooking temperature), enable the Default toggle on that modifier. Staff can still change it — it just saves a tap for the most common choice.
