Customer Display System (CDS)

What is the CDS?
The Customer Display System is a second screen that faces the customer at the counter. It mirrors the order being built on the POS in real time — customers can see each item added, the running total, and the payment confirmation without leaning over the counter. This builds trust and reduces order errors.
What the CDS shows
- Each item and price as the server builds the order
- Applied discounts and their amounts
- Subtotal, tax, and final total
- Amount tendered and change due during cash payment
- A thank you or promotional message after payment
How to set up the CDS
- Connect the CDS device to the same network as your POS terminals.
- Open the CDS app and log in with your Vivid credentials.
- Select the POS station this CDS is paired with.
- The screen will begin mirroring that POS terminal automatically.
Note: The CDS must be paired to a specific POS station. If you have multiple terminals, each needs its own CDS device.
How to add a promotional message to the CDS
- In the backend portal go to Configuration then Customer Display.
- Enter your promotional message or tagline in the Idle Message field.
- Upload a logo or promotional image if desired.
- Click Save. The message appears when no order is active.
