What are reservations on Vivid POS?

Reservations let your front-of-house team book tables in advance, attach guest details to upcoming visits, and view the full reservation schedule from the POS. Everything is in one place — no paper books or third-party apps needed.

How to view the reservations schedule

  1. Tap the left navigation menu (hamburger icon).
  2. Tap Reservations.
  3. The schedule opens showing all upcoming bookings by date and time. Use the date arrows to scroll forward or back by day.

How to create a new reservation

  1. On the Reservations screen, tap + New Reservation.
  2. Fill in: Guest name, Party size, Date, Time, Phone number (optional), and Notes (optional).
  3. Tap Save — the reservation appears on the schedule immediately.

How to seat a guest from a reservation

  1. Find the booking on the Reservations screen and tap it.
  2. Tap Seat Now.
  3. The table map opens — tap the table to assign to this party.
  4. Confirm the number of guests and tap Done. The table becomes active.

How to edit or cancel a reservation

  1. Tap the reservation on the schedule.
  2. Tap Edit to update any details, then Save.
  3. To cancel, tap Cancel Reservation and confirm.

How to enable SMS reminders

  1. In the backend portal go to Settings then Reservations.
  2. Toggle on Enable SMS Reminders.
  3. Set the reminder window (e.g. 2 hours before the reservation).
  4. Click Save. Guests with a phone number receive an automatic reminder text.

Note: SMS reminders require an active SMS add-on.
