How to assign a role to an employee
- Go to Configuration then Employees in the backend portal.
- Open the employee's profile.
- Click the Job Role dropdown and select the appropriate role.
- Click Save. Changes take effect the next time the employee logs in to the POS.
How to customize privileges within a role
Each role has individual toggles for specific actions. Common privileges you can turn on or off:
- Void items — remove items from an order after sending to the kitchen
- Comp items — mark items as complimentary (no charge)
- Apply discounts — apply percentage or dollar discounts
- Access reports — view sales and labor reports
- Edit menu — add or change items in the Catalog
- Manage employees — add, edit, or deactivate staff records
- Override prices — manually change item prices at the point of sale
How to restrict discount amounts per role
- Open the Job Role in Configuration then Job Roles.
- Find the Maximum Discount field.
- Enter the maximum percentage or dollar amount this role can apply.
- Click Save. Staff in this role cannot apply discounts above this limit — a manager override is required for anything higher.
