How to assign a role to an employee

  1. Go to Configuration then Employees in the backend portal.
  2. Open the employee's profile.
  3. Click the Job Role dropdown and select the appropriate role.
  4. Click Save. Changes take effect the next time the employee logs in to the POS.

How to customize privileges within a role

Each role has individual toggles for specific actions. Common privileges you can turn on or off:

  • Void items — remove items from an order after sending to the kitchen
  • Comp items — mark items as complimentary (no charge)
  • Apply discounts — apply percentage or dollar discounts
  • Access reports — view sales and labor reports
  • Edit menu — add or change items in the Catalog
  • Manage employees — add, edit, or deactivate staff records
  • Override prices — manually change item prices at the point of sale

How to restrict discount amounts per role

  1. Open the Job Role in Configuration then Job Roles.
  2. Find the Maximum Discount field.
  3. Enter the maximum percentage or dollar amount this role can apply.
  4. Click Save. Staff in this role cannot apply discounts above this limit — a manager override is required for anything higher.
